Street Fighter 6 players may get banned for accessing beta “outside of the designated period”
The Street Fighter 6 closed beta test has come and gone, but it seems as if some users can’t get enough of the upcoming fighting game as they’ve seemingly been accessing it “outside of the designated period.” This has prompted Capcom to release a statement warning these players that they will be banned from a number of competitions if they continue doing so.
With the initial Street Fighter 6 character list having already been confirmed, a few pro players are seemingly trying to get a leg up on the competition by practicing with some of them through the closed beta test. Fortunately, the developer’s public service announcement has quickly put a stop to these shenanigans as this is apparently “a violation of the CBT Terms of Service and can be seen as violation of the Capcom Pro Tour code of conduct.”
According to Capcom’s statement, any player who accesses the CBT (closed beta test) “in an unauthorized way may be deemed ineligible for the upcoming Capcom Pro Tour and Street Fighter League seasons.” They would go on to end their post by stating that they appreciate the community’s “cooperation and understanding in helping maintain the fairness and competitive integrity of our competitions.”
However, it’s currently unclear which pro players have incurred the wrath of the Street Fighter 6 developers. Based on this relatively tame statement, though, it’s safe to say that they won’t be attempting this again any time soon – that is, unless they want to be banned from participating in any official tournaments in the future.
Fortunately, the Street Fighter 6 release date is only a handful of weeks away now so fans will soon be able to get hands-on with Capcom’s latest series installment. If you really want to scratch that fighting game itch, then we suggest playing through the Street Fighter 6 demo instead, which gives you the chance to try out the game’s single-player World Tour mode.

Street Fighter 6 players may face a stringent sanction for accessing the much anticipated game’s beta prior to its originally designated period. Released yesterday, the game’s producer has come out with a warning about the consequences faced by pre-release users.
This news comes as theStreet Fighter 6 beta version has begun circulating online, as players have found a way to access the game early outside of its designated release period. To put an end to the illegal activity, the producer of the game has come out with a stern warning to its players – any participants found to be accessing the game prior to its already specified period will be banned permanently from the game.
The banning will take effect after the official launch of the game, where an audit will be conducted on all beta access levels and accounts towards punishing those trying to gain an upper edge in the game. Additionally, inconsistencies in the contents of the game will further be assessed to curb fraudulent activity.
“We welcome genuine Street Fighter 6 fans, but any illegal activities will not be tolerated,” said Street Fighter 6 producer, Tanaka. “For the enjoyment of all our players, we have taken proactive steps to protect the game from outside infringement, and we hope that this message will dissuade those seeking to take advantage of the system for their own gains.”
Street Fighter 6 has been eagerly awaited by fans, with its latest iteration introducing several new characters and gameplay mechanics. It will be interesting to see how the developers resolve unauthorised access in the beta, and what measures are taken to ensure a secure playing environment for everyone.
